The 4th day of the 6th Tibetan month is celebrated as ‘Choekhor Duechen’, the first turning of the great wheel of Dharma by Buddha Shakyamuni after his enlightenment. At the monastery, either the abbot or any of the ex-abbots teachings on Lamrim, the great treatise on the stages of the path of enlightenment. The monastery’s disciplinarian will read and explain from the constitution of the monastic law.
