103rd Gaden Tripa Kyabje Jetsun Lobsang Tenzin RinpocheHis Eminence the Gaden Tri Rinpoche Jetsun Lobsang Tenzin Pelsangpo from Drepung Loseling Monastery, who was the 103rd Gaden Tripa, the hierarchal head of Geluk Tradition [one of the four great traditions of Buddhism in Tibet] passed away on 21st April, following a long illness. He was 80 years old. On 26th April, rituals of cremation were performed at Drepung Loseling Monasteries. At that time, there were signs of auspiciousness with the emergence of a rainbow like cloud and a unique color of the sky adorned by an array of clouds with different patterns that usually do not appear.

In all the monastic seats as well as all Geluk monasteries and nunneries, prayers were performed for the fulfillment of his divine wishes, as well as for his swift return in the form of a new reincarnation. His Holiness the Dalai Lama has also composed a prayer for the Gaden Tri Rinpoche’s quick return.
